Department of Homeland Security

According to the DHS I am a threat to "National Security". How cool is that? One day I'm just an average grandmother who loves God and her country, who works hard and pays her taxes, who obeys the law, gives to charity and always tries to do the right thing. Then suddenly I am somebody important! I'm on a list! Wow. The thought is empowering! It is also ridiculous.

Tea Party Rally

Oregon City, Oregon - Taxpayers Tea Party 4/15/09

Our Taxpayers Tea Party was exhilarating. We had over 300 people and we were pumped up! I took a ton of pictures - for posterity - We didn't have any imposter's. And we only had one really rude motorist go by. The street we were on was incredibly busy so we had super visibility. I never saw any news crews, but that doesn't surprise me. People that don't "get it" really irritate me. They just don't want to "get it". It's not about taxes. It's about spending way more money than we have. It's about putting our grandchildren in debt for the rest of their lives when they didn't even have a say in it. Actually, none of us had a say in it. Congress didn't even read the bills they signed. Having our protests on Tax Day was a symbolic gesture.
It wasn't about taxes, although we believe our taxes are going to go way up in the next few years. It was about the spending.

Countdown To Taxpayers Tea Party

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

American For Prosperity

I took some time off, stayed away from the news and tried to focus on my family for a few days. It was really nice, but now I'm back at it again. Last night my husband and I went to a meeting with Americans For Prosperity. There were quite a few people there. We got some good ideas and met some like-minded people. I feel like I am finally "doing" something. We're signed up to march in the Taxpayers Tea Party on April 15th. This will be a first for me. Marching in a protest - no one will ever believe it.

There are so many things going wrong in our country, and at an alarming rate, I wasn't sure where to start. I need to learn to focus on one thing at a time while continuously keeping up to date on the other issues. Makes my head ache! I truly believe that Obama has a mental problem and it's frightening. And I don't mean the kind of mental disorder that I would have any sympathy or compassion for. I mean that he is a devious sick whacko. (Wow that felt good!)

Anyway, it's good to know I'm not crazy and there are millions of people out there that believe in the same things I do. Hopefully our efforts will make a difference for my grandchildren.

He's Just Saying What He Thinks You Want to Hear

I listened to most of BO's speech in Arizona today. It was on the radio while I was driving so I figured I'd see what he had to say (for as long as I could take it). He's improving with the "ah's" because I don't think he stumbled once. But that's not the point. What troubles me is that he sounded good, he said some good things. However, I have a hard time believing anything he says because he doesn't follow through. He lies. There, I said it. He lies. So what's the point in even listening at all? Guess there isn't one, unless you're keeping score for 2012.

The Life Question

Jonathan was conceived in early 1974. His mission in life was to discover the cure for cancer.

Sara was conceived in late spring of 1975. Her mission was to broker true and lasting peace in the middle east.

Jeremy and Elizabeth were conceived a year after Sara. His mission was to become a world class athlete. She was to become our country's first female President.

Barack was conceived in late 1960. His mission was to become the first Black President of the United States. He is the only one that fulfilled his mission because his mother didn't have a "choice".

Roe v. Wade - 1973

It's not a "choice. It's not a "right". It's a human life.

Is it Just Me?

I can never figure out what Obama is trying to say because I get so distracted by his use of "ah". It's like he doesn't know what to say next and he's filling the gaps so he won't lose your attention.

Today I saw Michelle Obama on CNN and was astonished that she talks just like her husband except she starts every sentence with "um".

Good grief people! Learn how to talk!

Only The Left have Rights

Have you noticed?
They can take God out of our schools because they have the right not to hear about Him, but we don't have the right to exercise our religious beliefs?
They can push around old people, attack churches and get people fired from their jobs, but if we call them faggots it's a hate crime?
They have the right to murder the unborn and we don't have the right to not pay for it with our tax dollars?
They can call George Bush any number of vile names, but if we even disagree with Obama we are called racists?

The list goes on and on.

The vocal minority has changed the landscape of our government and our country while the silent majority sat back and did nothing (myself included). It's time for a REAL change, and not the kind Obama is shoving down our throats. It's time for Conservatives to stand up and make some noise. A LOT of noise - without ceasing. Let's become the squeaky wheel that finally gets oiled or we will have no country left. What we will have is a Left Country.
Is that what we want to leave our children? I think not.
