Tea Party Rally

Oregon City, Oregon - Taxpayers Tea Party 4/15/09

Our Taxpayers Tea Party was exhilarating. We had over 300 people and we were pumped up! I took a ton of pictures - for posterity - We didn't have any imposter's. And we only had one really rude motorist go by. The street we were on was incredibly busy so we had super visibility. I never saw any news crews, but that doesn't surprise me. People that don't "get it" really irritate me. They just don't want to "get it". It's not about taxes. It's about spending way more money than we have. It's about putting our grandchildren in debt for the rest of their lives when they didn't even have a say in it. Actually, none of us had a say in it. Congress didn't even read the bills they signed. Having our protests on Tax Day was a symbolic gesture.
It wasn't about taxes, although we believe our taxes are going to go way up in the next few years. It was about the spending.

American For Prosperity

I took some time off, stayed away from the news and tried to focus on my family for a few days. It was really nice, but now I'm back at it again. Last night my husband and I went to a meeting with Americans For Prosperity. There were quite a few people there. We got some good ideas and met some like-minded people. I feel like I am finally "doing" something. We're signed up to march in the Taxpayers Tea Party on April 15th. This will be a first for me. Marching in a protest - no one will ever believe it.

There are so many things going wrong in our country, and at an alarming rate, I wasn't sure where to start. I need to learn to focus on one thing at a time while continuously keeping up to date on the other issues. Makes my head ache! I truly believe that Obama has a mental problem and it's frightening. And I don't mean the kind of mental disorder that I would have any sympathy or compassion for. I mean that he is a devious sick whacko. (Wow that felt good!)

Anyway, it's good to know I'm not crazy and there are millions of people out there that believe in the same things I do. Hopefully our efforts will make a difference for my grandchildren.
